OUTFITTERS
At Boone Haven Outfitters, we are more than just a guiding service. While we do provide high-quality lodging and some of the most productive hunts in the region, we also are passionate about creating new experiences with our clients, stories that will be passed down for generations upon generations.
Head Guide
I'm Chandler Martin and I'm the head guide and owner of Boone Haven Outfitters. I began hunting and duck calling when I was much younger, influenced by everyone in my family who spent all of their time outdoors or in the military. When I wasn't spending my childhood over at my great uncle's learning how to man a bow or blow a call, I was camping, fishing or trapping whatever creatures came across my path. I moved down to Kentucky from Quincy, Illinois when I was in high school and my passion for hunting followed me down here to the Jackson Purchase. I hunt now more than ever and am grateful my job allows me to do just that. I've since adopted the greatest addition to my family, Chip, who is the hardest working and most productive man on our team. I love hunting and am excited to be able to share this experience with others and introduce people to the relentless chase.
Nathan Kascht
Guide
Hi, my name is Nathan. I was born and raised in Richmond; a small town located in central Minnesota, the land of many lakes. My origins in Minnesota shaped me into exactly the way I am today and is to blame for my love of the outdoors. In my spare time away from my job as a carpenter, I love to hunt waterfowl and deer. My companion and the best hunter I know, my dog Gunner, is just as passionate about the chase as I am. We spend just as much time scouting and hunting together as we do sleeping and eating. I have been an avid hunter since I was about ten years old. Some of my favorite memories are of the hunting trips I went on with my grandpa, dad and uncle who collectively taught me everything that I know about hunting. There is truly nothing I love more than being outdoors and taking on new adventures. I am excited to be a part of Boone Haven Outfitters and look forward to seeing you this season!
Head Chef
Hello, my name is Jake Mazzu III. Born in southeast Texas on the Louisiana border to a third generation produce man, I've been around two things my whole life: waterfowl and fresh produce. I've spent the better part of 30 years running back bays, salt lakes and anything in between chasing redfish and teal. It was the love for fresh bounty and growing up around market fresh produce that propelled me into culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu. Once finishing my schooling, I worked at the #2 restaurant in the world, at that time, The Fat Duck. I have since owned numerous restaurants across the United States. The years of experience I have and many hours of "torcher" behind the stove have led me to very much appreciate cooking for small groups, especially friends and fellow hunters. Boone Haven has given me the opportunity to further my experience as a chef and hunter, the two things I love doing more than anything.

Arkansas is a run and gun style of hunting. We scout every day to ensure that we hunt the best feed or field possible for the next day, always in a different location from the day before. We may hunt layout blinds, A frames, or whites with backboards depending on the hide necessary and situation at hand. Clothing wise, we recommend knee boots, coveralls (camo), rain gear, a warm jacket and a white top (hoodie/jacket) if possible. One to two cases of shells are recommended.
South Dakota is a migrator style of hunting. We set massive spreads with all the toys under historically known flight lines. this style of hunting is very weather dependent. We run "traffic" and try to pull migrating snows down within shooting range using specific spreads and electronic goose calling. We only hunt A frames for this style of hunting. Clothing wise, we recommend warm and cold weather gear, rain gear (just in case), insulated boots, and a white top (hoodie/jacket) if possible. One case of shells is recommended.
